Questions

How do I play?

Tap two or more touching panes of the same color to clear them. Panes above drop down, and empty columns close in from the right. Clear every pane to restore the window and reveal its picture. Each color also has its own symbol, so you can play without telling colors apart.

When does the daily window change?

At midnight UTC. Everyone in the world gets the same window on the same day. You get one try at the daily window, with no stepping back. Practice windows are unlimited, and there you can step back or restart at any time.

Is every window solvable?

Yes. Every window is checked before you see it to make sure all panes can be cleared. Par is the fewest moves the checker found.

How do hints work?

A hint makes every move that can still restore the window glow gold, then explains your choice. Each hint costs one. You start with 3 and earn more:

How do I set a daily reminder?

In the iPhone app, open Settings (the gear) → Reminders and pick a time. iOS will ask for permission to send notifications. To stop reminders, switch them off there, or turn off notifications for Lumen in the iPhone Settings app. Reminders are only available in the iPhone app.

Where is my progress saved? Can I move it to a new phone?

Your streak, statistics, hints and gallery are stored only on your device. Lumen has no accounts or servers, so progress does not sync between devices or between the app and the browser version. Deleting the app, or clearing this site's data in your browser, erases your progress.

How do I share my result?

After finishing the daily window, tap Share Result. On iPhone this opens the share sheet with your result card and a short text summary. You can also press and hold the card to save it.

Sound or vibration is not working

Check the Sound switch in Lumen's Settings, and make sure your iPhone is not in Silent mode. Vibration feedback is only available in the iPhone app.

What do I need to run Lumen?

An iPhone with iOS 15 or later, or any modern web browser for the browser version. The iPhone app works fully offline.
